Careers

We are looking for talented, well-rounded individuals with strong technical ability, ideally in MS .NET and SQL Server; attention to detail, quality and process; good communication skills; who work well in teams and can represent the company with clients.*

We have a very strong core team at Bluesmith but we have room for more. We strive to create an excellent working environment for our people with an approach and culture that is a little different; a flat management structure, complete autonomy within project teams and flexible roles that remove barriers to progression.

We’ve tried to capture this culture in a set of principles that embody how Bluesmith treats its people.

Bluesmith has a genuine desire to develop its people and nurture them to their full potential. At Bluesmith you will be given the support and opportunity to develop a career within a new, fast growing and already successful organisation.

In addition to experienced IT professionals, we’re always looking for above average graduates as part of our graduate training and development programme. You must have a strong technical focus, be bright, enthusiastic and relish a challenge. As a graduate you will be assigned a mentor to help and support your training and development - your first 6 months will be dedicated to training.

Whether an experienced IT professional or graduate looking for a career in IT, if you have the right stuff and want to be part of Bluesmith, please contact us via:

*Bluesmith is an equal opportunities employer, everyone has to be equally good!

No Duffers: We only employ well rounded people of above average ability. Bluesmiths are self-managing and self-motivated individuals, who expect the same of their peers.
Technical Excellence: At Bluesmith technical roles are central to everything we do and therefore rated very highly. Our culture of quality and personal development is focussed on equipping all Bluesmith people with the knowledge, skills and experience to deliver technical excellence in all that we do.
One Team: Bluesmith is a support network where individuals are backed up by the skills and experience of others. When a customer enlists the help of an individual they get the backup and support of the entire Bluesmith Team.
No Pigeon Holes: We employ flexibility in roles and resourcing. Our flat hierarchy gives us great flexibility in resourcing projects and assignments. This provides individuals with the room to grow and try new things without the barriers imposed by ranks and titles.
Flexible Working: We have flexible working hours and no clock-watching; we focus on productivity, not time spent in the office. Timesheets are only required for customer billing purposes. We encourage everyone to have a sustainable balance of work-life and home-life, but going ‘above and beyond’ normal working hours is necessary sometimes.
"Need Not to Know", not "Need to Know": The vast majority of information relating to the business is available to all staff. It is only information that must be classified as private and confidential that is protected, which is usually personal.
Friendly Atmosphere: We all want an environment that is friendly and pleasant to work in, where there is co-operation and openness between all. We encourage everyone to be approachable and we don't believe in layers of management that can only be accessed through formal escalation routes.
Achievement Rewarded: Our objective is to reward people well for their achievements and contribution to Bluesmith.
You are Bluesmith: Bluesmith is a group of people of which you are a significant part. Without people Bluesmith would be an empty shell. You are Bluesmith.
